Suzanne Collins began her career writing for children's television in 1991, contributing to Nickelodeon series such as Clarissa Explains It All and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. She later turned to books, publishing the Underland Chronicles, The Hunger Games series, and picture books including When Charlie McButton Lost Power and Year of the Jungle. Her books have sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, and she has received honors including the TIME 100 and the Authors Guild Award for Distinguished Service to the Literary Community.
