Scott Bechtel Smith is an American novelist and screenwriter. Educated at Dartmouth College and Columbia University, he published two novels, A Simple Plan and The Ruins. He also wrote the screenplays for their film adaptations and other films, including Siberia and The Burnt Orange Heresy.
