Robert Warshow (1917–1955) was an American critic and editor associated with the New York Intellectuals. He wrote influential criticism of film, popular culture, comics, literature, and theater for publications including Commentary and Partisan Review, and served as managing editor of Commentary from 1946 until his death. His published work was collected in The Immediate Experience, first published in 1962; an expanded posthumous edition appeared in 2001.
