Rachel Caine was the principal pen name of Roxanne Longstreet Conrad (1962–2020), an American author who also published under several other names.

Caine said Buffy the Vampire Slayer influenced her interest in blending comedy and action, while she wanted her vampire stories to emphasize friendship and adventure rather than a central romance. She also credited Anne Rice with helping bring vampire fiction into mainstream view.
Her work won the RT Reviewers’ Choice Award for Best Continuity. The official Nebula Awards record also lists Caine as a 2020 Kate Wilhelm Solstice Award recipient.
