Pema Chödrön, born Deirdre Blomfield-Brown in 1936, is an American Buddhist nun in the lineage of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. She is a longtime teacher associated with Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia and the author of more than twenty books and numerous recorded teachings on meditation, compassion, uncertainty, and compassionate action.
