Joseph T. Shipley Books in Order

Joseph Twadell Shipley was an American drama critic, author, editor, translator, and teacher. His work ranged from drama criticism and literary theory to reference works on literature, English, and word origins. He taught at Yeshiva College and New York schools, wrote drama criticism for The New Leader, and broadcast theater reviews on WEVD. His final major book, The Origins of English Words, was published in 1984.
