Hubert Selby, Jr. (1928–2004) was an American novelist and screenwriter from Brooklyn. His major works include Last Exit to Brooklyn, The Room, The Demon, Requiem for a Dream, The Willow Tree, and Waiting Period, as well as the short-story collection Song of the Silent Snow. He also co-wrote the screenplay adaptation of Requiem for a Dream.
