Fernanda Melchor Books in Order

Fernanda Melchor (born 1982 in Veracruz, Mexico) is a Mexican writer, journalist, essayist, and translator. She studied journalism at the Universidad Veracruzana and earned a master's degree in Aesthetics and Art from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. Her fiction and narrative nonfiction often examine violence, class, gender, criminality, and social breakdown in Veracruz. Her novel Temporada de huracanes won the 2019 Anna Seghers Prize and Germany's 2019 International Literature Award, and was shortlisted for the 2020 International Booker Prize.
