Eoin Colfer is an Irish author born in Wexford in 1965. A former primary-school teacher, he became a full-time writer after the international success of Artemis Fowl. His work spans children's fantasy and science fiction, middle-grade fiction, adult crime and fantasy novels, picture books, graphic novels, collaborative fiction, and plays. He served as Ireland's Children's Laureate and has also written And Another Thing..., an authorized continuation of Douglas Adams's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.
