Emily St. John Mandel is a Canadian novelist and essayist. Her fiction ranges from literary noir and crime novels to acclaimed speculative fiction, often exploring memory, identity, art, social fragility, and interconnected lives. She is the author of seven novels: Last Night in Montreal, The Singer's Gun, The Lola Quartet, Station Eleven, The Glass Hotel, Sea of Tranquility, and the forthcoming Exit Party. Station Eleven was a finalist for the National Book Award and PEN/Faulkner Award and won the Arthur C. Clarke Award. She lives in New York City and Los Angeles.
