Eiji Yoshikawa Books in Order

Eiji Yoshikawa, born Hidetsugu Yoshikawa, was a Japanese novelist whose historical fiction reshaped classic Japanese and Chinese narratives for modern popular readers. He began publishing fiction in the 1910s, adopted the name Eiji Yoshikawa in 1925, and achieved major success with Naruto Hicho. His best-known works include Musashi, Shinsho Taiko ki, Sangokushi, Shin Heike monogatari, and Shihon Taihei ki. He also wrote memoirs, essays, short-story collections, travel writing, and plays. He received the Cultural Order of Merit in 1960 and died in 1962.
