Charles Baudelaire Books in Order

Charles-Pierre Baudelaire was a French poet, essayist, art critic, and translator. His poetry joined formal classicism with romantic and modern urban experience, while his prose poems, criticism, and writing on art shaped later symbolism and modernism. His principal works include Les Fleurs du mal, Les Paradis artificiels, and Le Spleen de Paris. He also translated and introduced Edgar Allan Poe to French readers. Baudelaire died in Paris in 1867; several major collections of his criticism, prose poetry, journals, and unfinished writings appeared posthumously.
