Boris Leonidovich Pasternak (1890–1960) was a Russian poet, prose writer, novelist, memoirist, and dramatist. His major poetry collections include Twin in the Clouds, My Sister—Life, Themes and Variations, Second Birth, On Early Trains, Earth's Expanse, and When the Weather Clears. His prose includes the autobiographical Safe Conduct, the novella A Tale, and the novel Doctor Zhivago, first published in Italian in 1957. He also wrote children's verse and the unfinished posthumously published play The Blind Beauty. From the 1930s onward, literary translation—especially of Shakespeare, Goethe, and Georgian poets—formed a major part of his career, although translations and editorial work are excluded from this bibliography.
