Bernard Stambler was an American musicologist and Dante scholar who served on the faculty of The Juilliard School from 1947 to 1972. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1955. His principal standalone book, Dante's Other World, interprets Purgatorio as a guide to the structure and meaning of the Divine Comedy. He also published scholarly essays on Dante and American composers.
