Yevgeny Zamyatin Books in Order

Yevgeny Ivanovich Zamyatin (1884–1937) was a Russian modernist writer whose fiction combined satire, allegory, technological speculation, and experimental prose. A naval engineer by training, he drew on experiences in provincial Russia, revolutionary politics, and England. His novel We became a foundational dystopian work. He also wrote novellas, fairy-tale satires, essays, literary portraits, plays, memoirs, and screenplays. Persecuted for his opposition to literary censorship, he emigrated to Paris in 1931, where he continued writing until his death.
