V.C. Andrews (Cleo Virginia Andrews, 1923–1986) was an American novelist whose gothic fiction explored family secrets, confinement, forbidden relationships, trauma, and inheritance. Her published career began with Flowers in the Attic in 1979. She completed seven novels during her lifetime; several additional posthumous novels were completed from her manuscripts, outlines, or story materials by Andrew Neiderman. Her unpublished early science-fantasy novel Gods of Green Mountain was released posthumously in 2004.
