Tony Tanner Books in Order

Paul Antony "Tony" Tanner was a British literary critic, Fellow of King's College, Cambridge, and Professor of English and American Literature at the University of Cambridge. His scholarship ranged from American literature and postwar American fiction to Henry James, Jane Austen, European realism, and literary representations of Venice. He was a major early advocate for the academic study of American literature in Britain. His final major collection, The American Mystery, was published posthumously in 2000 and assembled substantial essays on American writers.
