Thomas Hardy Books in Order

Thomas Hardy (1840–1928) was an English novelist, poet, short-story writer, and dramatist. He published fourteen novels, including Desperate Remedies, Far from the Madding Crowd, The Mayor of Casterbridge, Tess of the d'Urbervilles, and Jude the Obscure; four authorial collections of short stories; nine principal volumes of poetry; the three-part verse drama The Dynasts; and several other plays, nonfictional works, and autobiographical memoirs. His bibliography and publication chronology were checked against the Thomas Hardy Society, the Cambridge Edition of the Novels and Stories of Thomas Hardy, and standard reference bibliography.
