Theodore C. Van Alst Jr. is an enrolled member of the Mackinac Bands of Chippewa and Ottawa Indians and a Chicago-born-and-raised writer of literary fiction, horror, crime, and Indigenous urban narratives. He is the author of the Sacred trilogy, the gothic novella Pour One for the Devil, the short story The Longest Street in the World, and the novel The El. His work has appeared in publications including Southwest Review, The Rumpus, Red Earth Review, the Journal of Working-Class Studies, Chicago Review, Electric Literature, Indian Country Today, and the Massachusetts Review.
