Stephen Richards Covey (1932–2012) was an American educator, author, businessman, leadership consultant, and motivational speaker. He earned degrees from the University of Utah, Harvard University, and Brigham Young University, where he later taught. Covey founded the Covey Leadership Center and became cofounder and vice chairman of FranklinCovey. His work combined personal development, organizational leadership, family relationships, and religiously informed principles, most influentially in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
