Peter Heller is an award-winning American fiction writer and adventure journalist. He holds an MFA in fiction and poetry from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and has contributed to NPR, Outside, Men's Journal, and National Geographic Adventure. His books include literary nonfiction about international expeditions, surfing, conservation, and travel, as well as novels set in wild or environmentally threatened landscapes. He lives in Denver, Colorado.
