Nathaniel Philbrick Books in Order

Nathaniel Philbrick is an American historian and author known for vivid narrative histories of American maritime life, colonial New England, the American Revolution, and the American West. Born in Boston and raised in Pittsburgh, he studied English at Brown University and American literature at Duke University. He worked as an editor at Sailing World, wrote early books about sailing, and later became a leading authority on Nantucket history. His major works include In the Heart of the Sea, which won the National Book Award for Nonfiction, Mayflower, a Pulitzer Prize finalist, and a trilogy on the American Revolution. He lives on Nantucket, where he cofounded the Egan Maritime Institute.
