Michel Faber was born in the Netherlands in 1960, raised in Australia, and has lived in Scotland since the early 1990s. He is known for literary fiction spanning speculative fiction, historical fiction, horror, and psychological realism, including Under the Skin, The Crimson Petal and the White, and The Book of Strange New Things. His work also includes short-story collections, poetry, and nonfiction about music.
