Michael McDowell Books in Order

Michael McEachern McDowell (1950–1999) was an American novelist and screenwriter from Alabama. He wrote horror, historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers, and action novels under his own name and the pseudonyms Axel Young, Nathan Aldyne, Preston Macadam, and Mike McCray. His major works include The Amulet, Cold Moon Over Babylon, The Elementals, Blackwater, Toplin, and the Jack and Susan novels. He also co-wrote books with Dennis Schuetz and other collaborators, wrote the novelization of Clue, and co-created or scripted films and television works including Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas. His unfinished novel Candles Burning was completed by Tabitha King and published posthumously.
