Martin Jay Sherwin (1937–2021) was an American historian whose scholarship focused on nuclear weapons, atomic diplomacy, and the Cold War. He taught at Tufts University and George Mason University and wrote A World Destroyed and Gambling with Armageddon. With Kai Bird, he co-authored American Prometheus, which won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Biography.
