Lloyd Alexander Books in Order
Lloyd Chudley Alexander was an American novelist, biographer, memoirist, and children's author. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II and studying at the University of Paris, he began his career translating French literature before publishing his first novel, And Let the Credit Go, in 1955. His adult fiction and nonfiction were followed by children's biographies, fantasy novels, picture books, and story collections. His best-known works include The Chronicles of Prydain, Westmark, the Vesper Holly adventures, Time Cat, The Marvelous Misadventures of Sebastian, and The Golden Dream of Carlo Chuchio. He received the Newbery Medal for The High King and National Book Awards for The Marvelous Misadventures of Sebastian and Westmark.
