Lisa See Books in Order

Lisa See was born in Paris in 1955 and grew up in Los Angeles, spending much of her childhood with her father's family in Chinatown. She began publishing collaboratively under the joint pseudonym Monica Highland before establishing a major career with On Gold Mountain, her memoir of her Chinese American family. Her Red Princess mystery series follows Liu Hulan and David Stark, while her later historical novels center on women and communities in China, Los Angeles, and Korea. See has also written nonfiction and guidebooks, served as a journalist and museum curator, and wrote the libretto for an opera based on On Gold Mountain.
