His major works include Gun, with Occasional Music, Motherless Brooklyn, The Fortress of Solitude, Chronic City, The Feral Detective, The Arrest, and Brooklyn Crime Novel. He has also published short-story collections, essays, memoiristic criticism, cultural writing, collaborative books, and the graphic novel Omega: The Unknown. He received a MacArthur Fellowship and the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction.
