Harry Harrison (1925–2012) was an American science-fiction writer whose career included novels, novellas, short-story collections, nonfiction, comics, and editorial work. His fiction ranged from humorous space adventure and satire to ecological dystopia, alternate history, historical fiction, and technological speculation. His major series include the Stainless Steel Rat, Deathworld, Bill, the Galactic Hero, West of Eden, the Hammer and the Cross, To the Stars, and Stars and Stripes.
