Gaston Leroux Books in Order

Gaston Leroux (1868–1927) was a French journalist, foreign correspondent, novelist, and playwright. After beginning in law and journalism, he became a prominent reporter before turning to fiction. His work ranges across detective, adventure, fantastic, thriller, and historical fiction, as well as reportage, memoir, theater, and short fiction. He created the reporter-detective Joseph Rouletabille and the enigmatic convict Chéri-Bibi, and wrote The Phantom of the Opera. Leroux also collaborated on several plays and published books based on his journalistic reporting.
