Fernando Pessoa Books in Order

Fernando António Nogueira Pessoa (1888–1935) was a Lisbon-born Portuguese modernist poet and writer who also worked as a translator, literary critic, and publisher. He wrote in Portuguese and English, publishing poetry, prose, essays, political pamphlets, and drama. His distinctive literary system included the heteronyms Alberto Caeiro, Álvaro de Campos, and Ricardo Reis, as well as the semi-heteronym Bernardo Soares. Only five books appeared under his own name during his lifetime: four English poetry pamphlets and the Portuguese collection Mensagem. Much of his major work was published posthumously from manuscripts preserved in his estate.
