Drew Karpyshyn is a Canadian novelist, screenwriter, and video-game writer born in Edmonton, Alberta, in 1971. He began his game-writing career with Wizards of the Coast before joining BioWare in 2000, where he contributed to Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Anthem. His published fiction includes Forgotten Realms novelizations, the Star Wars Darth Bane trilogy, Star Wars: The Old Republic novels, the Mass Effect novel trilogy, the original Chaos Born trilogy, the short-story collection A Minor Malevolent Spirit and Other Tales, and the independent science-fiction novel Time Kings of Las Vegas.
