Beverly Cleary (1916–2021) was an American children's and young-adult author whose books portrayed ordinary children's lives with humor and emotional realism. Her major characters include Henry Huggins, Ramona Quimby, Beezus Quimby, Ribsy, and Ralph S. Mouse. She also wrote picture books, young-adult novels, two memoirs, activity books, and a play.
