Benjamin Alire Sáenz Books in Order

Benjamin Alire Sáenz was born in 1954 in Old Picacho, New Mexico, and was raised near Mesilla. He studied humanities and philosophy at St. Thomas Seminary, theology at the University of Louvain, and creative writing at the University of Texas at El Paso. He later held a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University, where he completed Calendar of Dust. Sáenz teaches creative writing at the University of Texas at El Paso. His work includes poetry, adult fiction, short stories, young-adult novels, and picture books. He received the American Book Award for Calendar of Dust and the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction for Everything Begins and Ends at the Kentucky Club.
