Aylmer Maude (1858–1938) was an English writer, biographer, social commentator, and translator. After living in Russia, he became a close friend and major English interpreter of Leo Tolstoy, collaborating with his wife, Louise Maude, on Tolstoy translations while also publishing original works on Tolstoy, the Doukhobors, Marie Stopes, art, and social questions.
